Careers Fair - February 2023

In February 2023, we ran our very first careers fair at Laleham!

Throughout the morning, each year group was able to visit the hall where a number of various professions and vocations volunteered their time to talk to the children about their jobs. As the children visited the different stall holders, they could collect stickers and stamps to add to their Laleham Careers Fair passport.

We were supported by a variety of participants; from architects, to gym owners, to opticians, who all inspired the children to think about possibilities for their future.

Year 6 had an additional session where Mr Worrell gave a presentation on the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, and the possibilities through the scheme.

We want to give a huge thank you to everyone who took part. Our visitors were amazed by our pupils, and sent messages complementing their wonderful behaviour, attitudes and excellent questioning skills.

The week after the careers fair, as part of our inspiring futures focus, Year 5 and 6 had a workshop entitled ‘Who Cares?’; inspiring children to think about opportunities within the healthcare sector.
